NOTES TO SPEAKERS

KEYNOTE ADDRESSES. Keynote speakers are provided 25 minutes for their presentation. Audio/visual capabilities for showing PowerPoint slides, sections of a DVD, or QuickTime video clips will be available. Completing the "bio" section of this form (below) will be helpful for the person introducing you.

PANELISTS.  Panelists will be gather around at a large table on the stage and each panelist provided a microphone and glass of water.  Beforehand, the session moderator will be provide you details about what questions and direction the panel discussions should take.  If you have some audio/visual materials (PowerPoint slides or video clips) that you would like to use, please discuss this with Cathy ahead of time, so that the material can be loaded onto the podium computer and be qued up and ready to go. Microphones will be placed in the aisles so you will be able to easily interact with the audience during the discussion.

SYMPOSIUM SPEAKERS.  Refer to the latest symposium program to confirm the location and time of your presentation.  Most talks are limited to 15-minutes. Consider bringing a watch or usiung a cell phone's clock to help you keep track of time. Please limit your presentation to 10 to 12 minutes, to allow 3 to 5 minutes for the audience to ask questions.  To prompt you to wrap up your presentation, the moderator will signal with a hand motion (e.g., hold up their hand with five fingers raised).  

The speaker's podium is equipped with a microphone, reading lamp, aser pointer, and computer running Windows 7 operating system. Save your talk slides in PowerPoint format on a CD or USB drive so that they can be loaded directly onto to the podium computer during the break BEFORE the session in which you are scheduled to speak.

Please look over the symposium schedule and make note of the break time before your session, when you should go to the podium to load your presentation. A technician will be there to help you with any logistics.  Preparing your slides ready ahead of time will make things easier for all prevents you losing valuable time at the beginning of your presentation.
Because of their large file size and for logistical reasons, we ask that presentation materials NOT be sent to us via e-mail.

Submit your information by 9 am on Thursday, October 21, 2010 and the title and your list of key points or abstract will be listed in the symposium handouts.

Once you submit this form, an e-mail will automatically be sent to you, confirming that we received your speaker information. This email will contain additional information that will hopefully answer any questions you may have.
