Beej’s Networking Book

Please read Beej’s Networking Book. Read chapter 2 (sockets), chapter 3 (IP addresses and ports). Scan chapter 5 (you eventually have to read it for your next lab).

Peterson Network Book

You can find this book on Bertrand library website by searching for “Computer Networks : A Systems Approach”. The authors are Peterson and Davie. Library has online version so you can just read it online. Read chapter 1.3 for some fundamentals and OSI model and chapter  5.2 for TCP protocol.
