Project Description

I would like to see a project that can search and sort photos based on date, location, and other meta-information that come with the photos. The photos are in the commonly used JPEG form. The platform can be on a smart phone, or a lap-top or desk-top computer through the web.

When the search results as a collection of photos are displayed, it would be great if the meta-information of each photo can be shown in a visual fashion. For example, the geo-location can be shown in Google (or any other) map, the date information can be shown along with a calendar.

The base version of the software uses meta-information for search and sorting. The next stage of the project should allow the user to edit meta-information of the photos to provide some annotation, if possible. Time permitting, it would be great if the search can also based on sample image.Project Goals

Goals

2. Provide capability to annotate the photos.
3. Search photos based on sample image.

Constraints

TBD

Resources

If the team chooses to implement the project on a smart-phone, they can use the Nexus 10 tablet. If the team chooses to implement the project over the web, any Linux desktop or Windows/Mac laptop should be fine.
