Welcome to Bucknell University's CMOS VLSI Design Homepage

Class Summary

CMOS VLSI Design (EE342) is an elective in the department of Electrical Engineering at Bucknell University. The EE342 syllabus is the creation of professor Paul H. Dietz.

Every semester, Professor Dietz has the EE342 class engage in a one or more group project(s). This semester (Fall 1996) the class decided to design a simple pattern recognition system at the integrated circuit level using the design layout tool Magic. Magic is a shareware integrated circuit design layout tool used by many universities around the country because of it's simplicity and versatility.

Pattern Recognition System - VLSI Class of Fall 1996

The EE342 class contemplated over several possible design projects for the semester. Everything from a telephone keypad decoder to a 4-Bit microcontroller was considered. Weighing our options and considering the fact that this was only a semester-long introductory course, we decided to design a simple pattern recognition system.
