William W. Jackson's will.
- viii. Samuel C. b. ca. 1808; believed to have been single.
From all evidence to date he was single. He had physical and mental problems.
In a suit against his brother JJ Jackson, he was referred to as a man of
unsound mind and two different times he was referred to by the court as an
idiot whatever that meant in those days. He was said to be unable to control
his water since death of his father. In numerous depositions, it was stated
Samuel was able to transact business but was easily persuaded. However, he
made some bad horse trades. He was said to be a kind and truthful man. He
worked some for his mother at her mill - this would be in Buckhannon. He
worked for his brothers carding and probably worked at the sawmill located on
Stonecoal.
