Charge (revised October 2007)

The Committee on Academic Computing is a sub-committee of the Committee on Instruction.

The Coommittee on Instruction (COI) creates a subcommittee to which it delegates its authority with regard to academic computing. This subcommittee will be called Committee on Academic Computing (CAC).

The CAC charge is to make policy recommendations concerning the use of technology in teaching, learning and research and to provide other advice to ISR leadership as appropriate. In addition, CAC distributes allocated funding for purposes of academic computing and facilitates communication between the faculty, students, and ISR.

The Committee on Instruction agrees to convey reports of the Committee on Academic Computing to the faculty without change but with whatever comments the COI feels appropriate.

The Committee on Academic Computing shall consist of seven voting members:

The Committee on Instruction shall appoint the faculty members; none of them need be members of the COI. A chairperson shall be elected from among the faculty members on the CAC. The Committee on Academic Computing may have non-voting advisory members:
