University Library Committee

Charge

The University Library Committee is a sub-Committee of the Committee on Instruction

The Committee on Instruction has created a subcommittee to which it delegates its authority with regard to the operation of the University Library (including Instructional Media Services). This subcommittee will be called University Library Committee. The existing Library Advisory Committee shall be replaced.

The University Library Committee's charge is to make policy recommendations concerning the academic functions of the University Library, and to provide other advice to the Director of Library Services as it sees fit.

The Committee on Instruction agrees to convey reports of the University Library Committee to the faculty without change, but with whatever comments the COI feels appropriate.

The University Library Committee shall consist of nine voting members: one faculty member from each of the four traditional divisions, one faculty member at-large, two students appointed by the BSG, and the Associate Director of Information Services and the Associate Vice President or a designee. The Committee on Instruction shall appoint the faculty members; none of them need be members of the Committee on Instruction. A chairperson shall be elected from among the faculty members on the ULC.
