Questions/comments about PHYS 211 account

Mon, Sep 18, 12:13 p.m. - Do we need to concern ourselves with the physics history mentioned in 1.2 in the textbook?

The only history that you need is stuff that we discuss in lecture, problem session or reading quizzes/drills.

Sat, Sep 16, 2:29 p.m. - Accessing the documents on the Solutions page:

"Unauthorized

This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser doesn't understand how to supply the credentials required."

Tried logging in with my details. No luck.

(Ben answering again.) See answer below.

Sat, Sep 16, 1:42 p.m. - I have tried entering my myBucknell username and password (the credentials I use for this site as well) in multiple browsers. Yet, I am not able to access Test 1's blank copy or test solutions. Please help!

(This is Ben answering.) Your PHYS 211 account has the same username your Bucknell account, but the passwords are independent. Perhaps you set your 211 password to match your Bucknell password, but otherwise they are not related.

The same PHYS 211 username and password controls everything: drills, reading quizzes, checking scores, downloading HW solutions, and downloading previous year exams. So if you can do one of those things, you must be able to do all of them. Here are two things I can think of that might be going wrong:

1) you have the caps lock on? The passwords are case sensitive.

2) maybe you haven't really been logging in to take the drills and reading quizzes? If you a drill with 'username: 211' to log in, then it lets you take the drill/reading quiz, but hasn't really logged you in. If that's the case, then you need to find your PHYS 211 password that was emailed to you at the beginning of the semester.

Or, you can re-set your PHYS 211 password. Go to the 'Check Scores' page, and then click on the 'Forgot your password?' link. This will allow you to re-set your password and have the new PHYS 211 password emailed to you.

If all else fails, please send me an email at bvollmay (at bucknell dot edu).
