In your personal statement describe the following aspects about yourself:
Describe any courses taken in high school or college. Describe any self study, e. g., a hobby, or employment related study.
Describe any personal contacts you have with people knowledgeable about Biology. For example, "My uncle is a molecular biologist and I am sure he will help."
Do you consider yourself a leader? Or a worker? Describe any experiences you have had being a leader. Do you want to learn how to be a leader?
Have you worked on a team before? Describe your experiences, for example, as part of a summer job. What aspects of working on a team were difficult for you? Describe positive aspects.
Describe any courses and employment in software engineering.
Describe any talent you possess which may be useful for the project, for example, writing skills or art skills.
Discuss what you plan to do in the next few years after graduation.
