THE Problem Fall, 1997
You are employed as a systems analyst at Bison Scientific, a company
that develops software tools for computational scientists. The
company develops total packages including hardware, software, training
materials and maintenance options primarily on scientific workstations running
Unix and X-Windows, but, also, develops products that run on Macintoshs and IBM
compatibles under Windows 95. The president of the company
recognizes the importance of the Internet to the company's
customers.
THE Problem: "Investigate the feasibility of a computational
solution to gene sequencing."
Sequence assembly of DNA fragments in a Genome is an important problem
in Computational Biology.
