With my free ticket for getting bumped from my return from Europe last
year, and frequent flyer
miles for Mia's ticket, we went to Paris for Christmas 2008, staying
through the first two weeks
of January. We stayed at an apartment (#1584 through parisattitude.com)
near the Bastille.
Here are some photos which don't seem to say enough about how great it
was to just be there
for three weeks. The only downside was the socialist agenda that
makes saline solution cost $13.

On the Champs Elysees.

At the Louvre. It was a little colder for this visit than before.

At St. Sulpice, on our way to Pierre Herme, one of the stops on Le
Tour du Chocolate that every other
English speaker just happened to know about.

At Leon, near St. Sulpice, after our trip to pick up les gateaux at
Pierre Herme.

After a late lunch, we had our desserts. The Arabella with banana,
walnuts, almonds, and ginger in
a thick chocolate mouse was just awesome.

At the Trocadero on Mia's birthday.

Mia wanted to see a Picasso exhibit at the Grande Palais.

We saw a really cool contemporary and hip hop show in Suresnes, a
little outside of Paris. The group is called Suresnes-
Cite-Danse. The show's choreographer was inspired by Marvin
Gaye's 'I want you.' Here's a link.

I love chocolate. Another stop on le tour.
The royale with cheese and a beer! Of course we're like that, so what?

New Year's eve, at a Belgian bar at the Bastille, where they had our
favorite, Mort Subite.

We went to Euro Disney as well. Yes, we went to Disneyland in
Paris. Several rides were closed and it was miserable
weather. But it was great fun.
